Counselling & psychotherapy
in Chelmsford

Sometimes it matters to be in a room with someone. To sit with another person, to be seen in that way, to have the session be its own distinct moment in the week rather than something that happens on a screen. That's what in-person work offers, and for a lot of people it's the right choice.

I see clients in Chelmsford at the Chelmsford Counselling & Therapy Centre on Wells Street, a short walk from Chelmsford station. Sessions are 50 minutes and we'd usually meet weekly, at least to start with.

What we might work on

I work with adults across a wide range of difficulties. Anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder, and panic attacks. Depression and low mood. Burnout and work-related stress. Trauma and PTSD, including childhood trauma and sexual abuse. Low self-esteem and low self-confidence. Addiction and compulsive patterns. Relationship difficulties, domestic abuse, and losing yourself in relationships. Grief and bereavement. Identity questions, including LGBTQ+ concerns and questions of belonging. Dissociation and the longer aftermath of difficult experiences.

If faith or spirituality matters to you, it can be part of the work. I'm comfortable working with neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD, autism, and dyslexia, and I'm genuinely affirming of all backgrounds, orientations, and identities.

I don't work to a fixed formula. At the centre of everything is a genuine belief that you are the expert on your own life. My job is to follow your lead, ask questions that open things up, and name what needs naming when it needs naming.

Fees

I work on a sliding scale between £45 and £75 for in-person sessions in Chelmsford. Cost should not be the reason someone doesn't come. Get in touch and we'll find something that works.
